Our Fortune 1000 FMCG client are looking for a Transport & Logistics Buyer for their EMEA Procurement team, based in the UK or France. 

The role:

Our client is looking for someone to join the team and manage the EMEA Transport, Logistics and Warehousing spend of approximately $30-40m. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Working across the local, regional and global procurement teams to lead sourcing and contract management activities and drive commercial value across the business
  • Undertaking full strategic sourcing processes and building solid relationships at all levels
  • Implementing contracts and SLA’s including establishing a review schedule
  • Constantly looking for innovative ways of working and improvement of processes & systems
  • Identifying synergies with EMEA and Global markets
  • Establishing authentic relationships with stakeholders and becoming a trusted business partner
  • Identifying and reporting on Cost Savings and Cost Avoidance

Key characteristics to be successful:

  • Demonstrable experience in purchasing, with significant exposure to Transport, Logistics and/or Warehousing categories
  • Understanding of category management with an ability to apply skills to a complex, regional category
  • Ability to manage complex projects
  • Highly capable understanding stakeholder needs and influencing to create commercial value
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
  • Ability to work with a diverse and challenging stakeholder group to bring value through a combined local/regional/global procurement approach
  • Any knowledge of French or Polish would be highly beneficial, or any other European language
  • Ideally, this person will come from a consumer-focused organisation
  • Must be comfortable with travelling as part of a role
